Senior Susan Anderson was recognized as Student of the Year by the Rotary Club of Lakewood, alongside several other students from Lakes High School, Clover Park High School and Harrison Preparatory School. Anderson was nominated by SHS principal Jake Tyrrell because she stood out as a significant student leader, being a yearbook Editor-in-Chief, president of National Honor Society, Choir Board President and on the superintendent committee. “Having worked with her on a couple different things and seeing her in choir and yearbook, she’s doing a really nice job,” Tyrrell said. In the meeting recap, Rotary member Steve Saalfeld wrote, “The sun seemed to shine a little brighter on the lake after hearing this thoughtful group of young leaders share their hopes and dreams with our humble club.”
