Homecoming 2023's "Jungle Dreams" theme welcomed guests with balloon palm trees, shimmery crepe paper waterfalls and twinkle lights. This year, guests can expect deep blues, some purple, maroon, with plenty of glitter and stars that will give off a vibe of nostalgic nightlife for the theme, "Meet me at Midnight."

Journalism Staff Wins State Awards

At the State WJEA Conference, every Sentinel Sound staff member that competed went home with an award in their field. Senior Noelle Reger received an Excellent Award in News Writing, senior McKenna Novak received an Honorable Mention in Editorial Writing, senior Darren Vargas-Holmes received an Honorable Mention in Editorial Cartooning, senior Issy Pancho received an Honorable Mention in Yearbook Feature Writing, senior Analyssa Bugay receiving an Excellent in News Feature Writing, and senior Austin Scheel received a Superior in Newspaper/Magazine/Online Photography.

Hi, I'm Lindsay Webster, The Sentinel Sound student newspaper adviser. I also advise the Steilacoom High School Yearbook and am the Photography teacher. I am in my 7th year of teaching high school. I received the ASNE Journalism Fellowship in 2006, received the JEA Rising Star Award in 2008 and the Fern Valentine Freedom of Expression Award in 2023. Before that I was a wedding photographer and flower farmer. I love chai tea and graphic tees.
