On Friday, September 26th, SHS Cheer and ASB teamed up to announce the theme of this year’s Homecoming: Once Upon A Bayou. Here’s the place for all your HOCO 2025 information!
Homecoming Week
Homecoming week is busy, filled with activities and spirit events to get you excited about it. The schedules are posted around the school on posters, and on SHS’s Instagram, @bigsteily.
Spirit Week
Monday: Dream Big Day (PJ day or wear red)
Tuesday: Tourist Tuesday (Dress like a tourist or wear Gold/Yellow Day)
Wednesday: Pink Out!
Thursday: 2000s Day (Dress in 2000s style or wear blue)
Friday: Construction Day – Wear Neon! (or wear white)
Freshman: orange
Sophomores: yellow
Juniors: blue
Senior: Pink
Staff: Green
Spirit Activities:
As usual, the week before the dance has plenty of spirit-related activities to take part in. Here’s the schedule:
Monday: Class Hallway Decorating
11:15-2:30
Tuesday: Class Pillar Decorating
11:15 to 1:15
Come decorate the big pillars in the commons with your class!
Wednesday – Thursday: Float Decorating
11:15 – 1:15
Come make an AWESOME homecoming float
Friday: Homecoming Court Coronation and Pep Rally
Pep Rally and Tailgate Party:
There is a town-wide pep rally from 4:45 to 5:20 pm in the Sentinel Stadium, followed by a Tailgate party from 5:20 to Kickoff (start of the football game) with food provided by local vendors. This Tailgate party will also include a Mascot Race, where Sentinel Sam will face off the Key Club Tiger, Steily Squad, and Eatonville’s Mascot, Cruiser Pete. Come bring Steily Spirit, enjoy food, and support the Steilacoom Sentinels!
HOCO Game
The homecoming football game starts at 7pm and is the Steilacoom Sentinels versus the Eatonville Cruisers. The game is NEON OUT, so dress in your brightest, funnest outfits and bring your Steily Spirit! Prior to the game, there will be a tailgate party, with food provided by local vendors, and a Mascot Race between Sentinel Sam, the Steily Squad, the Key Club Tiger, and Eatonville’s mascot, Cruiser Pete.
HOCO Dance
This year’s homecoming theme is Wish Upon a Bayou. Think Princess and The Frog, or Mystical Bayou. Greens, navy blues, browns, and plenty of magic.
The dance is in the Steilacoom High School Main Gym, and takes place from 7 to 10pm.
TICKETS
Admissions are $30 each and can be purchased beginning Thursday 10/9
Parents/guardians can purchase admission online at https://wa-steilacoom.intouchreceipting.com/manage/ (Choose “items at student’s school”, then Homecoming admission )
Guest Forms: Students must submit a completed guest pass for non-SHS guests to the front office before noon on Friday, October 17th. These can be picked up at the front desk or from Mrs Agnew.
